America250 in Lebanon County
It is painful to choose photos for this because there are TONS that are as good as these few. I encourage you to watch the short YouTube video of this project linked HERE.
America250PA awarded Visit Lebanon Valley a Semi- quincentennial grant to create this mosaic. Additional sponsors included Capital Area Intermediate Unit, Lebanon Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution and Lebanon Federal Credit Union.
Workshops were 2 hours long, and often people spent a great deal of time creating spectacular tiles. Workshops were announced on social media, so some people came to multiple locations to make tiles. Our mosaic hangs in the Lebanon County Expo Center.
Kerry Royer, Claire DeBoer, and I spent 7 months doing tile workshops with different groups across Lebanon County; an Amish home, Clarence Schock Memorial Nature Center, Cornwall Elementary, Cornwall Iron Furnace, Cornwall Manor, Lebanon County Courthouse, Farm Women of Lebanon County, Daughters of the American Revolution, Lebanon County Emergency Services, Lebanon Federal Credit Union, Lebanon Valley College, Lebanon Valley Council on the Arts, Lebanon Valley Rails to Trails, Lebanon’s 250 Planning Committee, Mount Gretna Chautauqua Summer Program, Northern Lebanon High School (that I attended in 9th grade,) Old Annville Days, Palmyra High School, Fort Indiantown Gap, Tri County Conewago Creek Association, Visit Lebanon Valley, WEPA job fair, Good Samaritan Hospital (I was born here)
