Per things I am frequently asked, here is some information:
To start a commission, the first thing any maker needs to know is your budget and what you want.
From there, I have dozens of ideas already thought through and will briefly outline a few potential projects that I think fit your request. Virtually always, one of those fits perfectly, but if not, I’ll dig deeper.
I ask for ½ up front (non-refundable) and the rest before shipping. I’ll give you a guess of shipping. I deliver myself if within a 100 mile radius of Hummelstown, PA.
For outdoor art, I need to know ahead of time and I build accordingly. I have shipped parts that get installed by a professional on the other end. I have also brought my installer to projects. In either case, so far, there is no visible evidence that the art was in parts.
Cost and timeline for completion are figured based on the design of the art and the glass that is used. The size of the work is relevant but often, a small work might cost more because the details become more difficult if the work is tiny. Every project is unique.
I can send photos while I am in progress or if you wish, or I can wait and surprise you if you want.
