This project was commissioned by a collaboration between the Pennsylvania Turnpike Commission, Pennsylvania Council on the Arts, and Capital area Intermediate Unit. I’m always super proud of what kids do in projects but this is by FAR the most difficult design that I have asked students to do.  I had assumed that I would be carrying a lot of weight in this but they surprised me.  A great percentage of kids sat out so the ones who pitched in were amazing… and I’m not easily impressed.  The personal fused tiles were all in the clouds. The design had to depict destinations that were accessible from the Highspire rest stop on the turnpike.
